Menomena is an inventive rock band from Portland, Oregon. While having previously explored some darker, wider ranging territory, their new and third album ‘Mines’ is more focused. Their vocals – shared by each of the three members – are absolutely amazing. Menomena is a band whose success relies heavily on their complex process of making music. In this new album, they don’t abandon their complicated and varied instrumentations, they just find the balance that make the songs far more accessible.
